About Caitlin

Caitlin Creech is a Product Designer who solves everyday problems by creating simple, user focused solutions based on research and testing. Caitlin believes that no challenge is too big to tackle and the right design can help people have better interactions with products and services that help them achieve their goals.

Caitlin has worked in the non-profit world for over 9 years as a Program Director, inspiring youth from around the world to pursue STEM education and igniting within them a passion for change. After proudly serving in this role, she is transitioning to Product Design. As one of the original staff members of the organization, she has worked with people in over 190 countries which has helped create cultural awareness and foster incredible communication skills. She has had a great experience managing and creating programs, working with various stakeholders in different industries, but seeing the growth of people she worked with has been her favorite part. She discovered Product Design about 3 years ago but didn’t think she could make the transition. However, seeing a history teacher learn how to build and program robots with their students inspired her to change her thinking.

As a Product Designer, Caitlin believes that we can learn so much by just having a conversation with someone. When there is a problem, the first step in solving it is trying to understand how the user is feeling. While empathizing can be difficult, Caitlin enjoys talking with others to uncover insights into how a product is used and how it can be improved. She also believes that being able to share the insights with others is important to ultimately solving any problem. She believes that teamwork is essential to solving problems and thrives in a team-based, collaborative, and creative environment.

Even though she does not come from a traditional design background, Caitlin loves learning and believes that learning is a life-long process. She loves finding out how other people solve and approach problems, and enjoys conversations with those from different specialties and backgrounds. In the future, she hopes to continue to improve UI design skills, and learn how UX fits into new technologies, including the AR and VR spaces. Caitlin holds a UX Design certification from Springboard Learning. She also holds a BA in International Relations with a triple minor in Human Rights, Latin American Studies and Spanish (cum laude) from Webster University as well as a MSc in Conflict Studies (merit) from the London School of Economics.

You can always find her with coffee in hand, and when she is not working on improving UI design skills, you can find her in her twice-weekly Korean classes, spending time with friends and family, or traveling the world seeing how other people live.
